Access Advisory Committee meeting 11 June
Their was talk of visiting other places i.e. Lily Hill Park
Coral Reef now has a lot more disabled visitors since the new disabled facilities were put in place.
BSLC will be increasing there ‘disabled support staff’ from 3 to 4 shortly and will also expand there service to visit sports events such as Football, Motor Racing etc.
The transport scheme is not yet covering the whole borough, Cllr Jim Finnie not happy, threatened to walk out but was eventually persuaded to stay.
There was a long discussion about the Disability Equality Scheme, and in particular the Transport Scheme. I felt talking more about the Transport Scheme for people with LD at BROC and other places was a bit pointless as we spoke about it in depth at the last meeting and the Scheme still doesn't’t cover the whole borough.
